Large global insurance claims management and outsourced solutions business. They are the market leader and continue to grow at a rapid rate.

They are seeking a senior financial accountant for a 6 month fixed term contract.

They offer flexible working with 3 days work from home and 2 days in the office. The office is based on the city fringe and is close to all types of public transport.

Responsibilities

This is a business critical, Senior Financial Accountant role that reports into the Finance Director. The key focus areas of the role are highlighted below -

Prepare annual statutory financial reports for the Australian business and associated entities in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Liaise with external auditors, in relation to audit requests, financial statement disclosures, technical accounting matters, and audit completion requirements.

Assist with preparing annual statutory financial reports for two oversees entities and coordinate local reporting requirements.

Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards and reporting requirements.

Assist in the preparation of the annual corporate income tax return for Australia and liaise with the Global Tax Office in regards to tax reporting requirements.

Partner with key stakeholders in the local and US office (internal and external)

Background

Excellent communication skills, proactive, strong problem solving skills, managing deadlines and stakeholder engagement

Open to Big 4 audit background or commerce and industry senior financial accountant/financial accountants

CPA/CA qualified with strong experience in financial reporting, external audit, or statutory accounting.

Preferably with exposure to the financial services industry

Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and corporate tax compliance.

Experience preparing statutory financial statements and working with external auditors.

Experience with SOX control environment would be an advantage but not essential
