Role Senior Fire Engineer — you’ll typically be working on a variety of projects from a university in Scotland to a high‑rise residential tower in London, with plenty of international projects. All with the goal of enabling innovative architectural design without compromising fire safety. Responsibilities Run through design information and liaise with other WSP disciplines (Facades, Acoustics and Structures).
Present designs to local authorities and the Fire Service. Inform the design team about changes to increase building safety. Work with the team on software packages, fire standards, and client updates from the start.
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in regular social and development activities. We will assist the successful candidate toward professional registration via the IFE and other professional bodies. Qualifications BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience within the fire engineering consulting industry. This role can be based from any of our UK major offices. What We Will Be Looking For You will demonstrate the above qualifications and a willingness to grow within a bespoke development programme that provides professional and technical development opportunities, supported by senior leadership.
The programme aims to help you work towards chartered status or equivalent professional qualifications.
