Quality Engineer

Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products, recording quality results. This job description is not exhaustive as other duties may be required to fulfil the requirements of the role. Responsibilities Adhering to company safety policies and procedures at all times.

Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor. Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.

Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarising re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database (IFS). Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. Drives root cause corrective action and continuous improvement.

Supports the development, implementation and training of policies and procedures. Co‑ordination of NCRs through to satisfactory closure. Co‑ordination of ISO documentation and procedures.

Other To adhere to CDE policy and practice. To carry out any other duties within reason and capability associated with this role. Skills Needed Improvement, managerial/operational, people.

Required Criteria Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role. Educated to GCSE level in Mathematics and English. Proven organisational skills with the ability to effectively plan, organise and control daily workload.

Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Attentive to detail. Desired Criteria Minimum 2 years’ experience of quality processes.
