Job Description
Join our Plant Engineering team in Trim & Final at Halewood, where you'll play a key role in supporting both current and future vehicle programmes. As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll provide hands‑on engineering support, drive production efficiency, and ensure the reliability and performance of all associated plant equipment. You'll take accountability for first line response to equipment and process issues, working proactively to minimise downtime and optimise operations.

Key Responsibilities Work as part of the plant engineering team to ensure a safe and efficient production performance is delivered within the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, and Environment framework.
Analyse facility data to investigate and improve the performance and efficiency throughout the production system, integrating closely with other manufacturing departments and technologies. Manage the implementation of all facility modifications and ensure all related documentation is updated accurately. Act as the key stakeholder and customer for upstream manufacturing teams during the install on new model facilities throughout the final assembly area.
Provide technical expertise to team problem‑solving activities to accurately identify root cause, corrective, and preventative actions. Comply with health and safety procedures by ensuring all safety metrics are achieved, including identifying safety hazards/risks and ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Accurately investigate and present engineering solutions to the senior management team.
Key Skills & Experience Technical (mechanical) engineering skills gained within the manufacturing industry. Detailed knowledge of automation systems (robot cells, overhead/floor conveyors, AGVs, glazing facilities, high‑speed cranes, fluid fill equipment and bespoke automation systems). Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook & Teams).
Knowledge of health and safety processes/procedures. Previous maintenance experience in a similar manufacturing engineering role. Experience in environmental controls and practices; knowledge of Quality Operating System procedures & deliverables.
