Position Details Position Title: Senior Consultant - Government Advisory - Mining Specialist Number of Positions: 01 Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan Reporting To: Senior Consultant / Engagement Manager Employment Type: Full-time Experience Required: 10+ Years Educational Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Engineering, Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences, Geology, Mining & Mineral Processing, or related disciplines may apply for this position. Master's Degree (Preferred/Advantageous): Candidates with an M.Tech/M.E. in Mining Engineering, Mineral Engineering, Mine Planning, Rock Mechanics, Geotechnical Engineering, Mineral Economics, Geology, Environmental Management, or related disciplines will be preferred. Additional preference will be given to candidates possessing: First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency Professional certifications in Mine Planning and Design Certifications in GIS, Remote Sensing, or Geological Modelling Membership of recognised professional mining bodies and institutions Specialized qualifications in Mine Safety, Sustainable Mining, ESG, or Environmental Management Relevant Work Experience Candidates with 10+ years of progressive experience in mining operations, mine planning, geological assessment, mineral resource evaluation, mining consultancy, government mining projects, regulatory advisory, or large-scale mining infrastructure projects are eligible to apply for this position.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in: Open Cast and Underground Mining Operations Mine Planning and Production Optimisation Mineral Resource and Reserve Estimation Due Diligence and Technical Audits Regulatory Compliance and Mining Clearances Government Mining Projects and Public Sector Engagements Technical Advisory and Transaction Support Sustainable Mining and Environmental Management Experience across minerals such as limestone, coal, iron ore, bauxite, copper, zinc, precious metals, industrial minerals, and critical minerals will be an added advantage Role Overview The Mining Expert will provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise across mining, mineral resource development, mine planning, operational improvement, regulatory compliance, and mining sector advisory assignments.The role requires deep technical knowledge of mining operations, strong analytical capability, understanding of mining regulations, and the ability to engage effectively with government departments, mining operators, regulators, investors, and industry stakeholders. The selected candidate will support mining sector projects involving technical due diligence, mine development planning, resource evaluation, policy advisory, operational assessments, sustainability initiatives, and investment transactions. Roles & Responsibilities Mining Advisory & Technical Leadership Provide technical leadership on mining advisory assignments involving mine planning, resource assessment, operational performance improvement, mine development, and mining sector strategy.
Mine Planning & Production Optimisation Review and develop short-term, medium-term, and long-term mine plans. Evaluate production schedules, equipment deployment strategies, stripping ratios, mine sequencing, and operational efficiency improvement opportunities. Geological Assessment & Resource Evaluation Lead geological evaluations, mineral resource assessments, reserve estimation reviews, exploration data analysis, and validation of geological models.
Technical Due Diligence Conduct technical due diligence for acquisitions, investments, project financing, public-private partnerships, and mining asset transactions. Assess technical viability, risks, resource quality, production capability, and operational performance. Regulatory Compliance & Statutory Advisory Advise clients on compliance with mining laws, environmental regulations, mine safety requirements, forest clearances, statutory approvals, and regulatory frameworks applicable to mining operations.
Government & Public Sector Advisory Support government departments, public sector undertakings, and regulatory authorities on mining policy, resource management, auction frameworks, mine allocation processes, and sector reforms. Mine Safety & Risk Management Assess mine safety systems, operational risks, geotechnical risks, occupational health requirements, emergency preparedness frameworks, and statutory safety compliance mechanisms. Environmental & Sustainability Advisory Support implementation of sustainable mining practices, environmental management plans, mine closure plans, ESG initiatives, rehabilitation strategies, and community engagement programmes.
Data Analysis & Technical Reporting Prepare and review technical reports, mining assessments, feasibility studies, pre-feasibility reports, resource evaluation reports, operational reviews, and client presentations. Stakeholder Engagement Engage with mining companies, government agencies, geological institutions, regulators, investors, consultants, and local stakeholders to support project delivery and sector engagement. Capacity Building & Knowledge Transfer Design and deliver training programmes, technical workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, and capacity-building initiatives related to mining operations, regulations, and best practices.
Field Assessments & Site Reviews Lead site inspections, mine audits, production reviews, operational assessments, geological evaluations, and field verification exercises across project locations. Additional Project Responsibilities Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the Engagement Manager or Senior Leadership in alignment with project requirements and organisational priorities. Skills Mining Engineering & Operations: Strong expertise in surface and underground mining operations, mine development, production management, and operational optimisation.
Mine Planning & Design: Proficiency in mine planning methodologies, production scheduling, pit optimisation, mine design principles, and resource utilisation strategies. Resource Estimation & Geological Modelling: Experience in mineral resource evaluation, reserve estimation, geological interpretation, exploration analysis, and resource classification standards. Mining Regulations & Compliance: Comprehensive understanding of mining legislation, environmental regulations, mine safety standards, statutory approvals, and regulatory frameworks.
Technical Advisory & Due Diligence: Ability to assess mining assets, identify technical risks, conduct due diligence, and provide strategic recommendations to clients and stakeholders Technical Report Writing: Strong capability in preparing feasibility studies, technical reports, resource assessments, audit reports, and executive presentations. Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage effectively with regulators, mining operators, government officials, investors, consultants, and technical teams. Competencies Strategic Thinking: Ability to evaluate complex mining challenges, identify operational opportunities, and develop practical, technically sound solutions.
Analytical Excellence: Strong capability to analyse geological, operational, production, financial, and technical information for informed decision-making. Problem Solving: Ability to identify operational bottlenecks, technical risks, and regulatory challenges and develop effective mitigation strategies. Leadership & Team Collaboration: Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate effectively across technical, regulatory, and advisory environments.
