Senior Business Analyst

Senior Business Analys t ( SC Cleared ) – Contract Location : Remote (UK-based) Inside IR-35 Contract Length : Initial 3-6 months (extensions likely) Overview We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst with active SC Clearance to join a major UK Government / GDS-aligned programme . This is a critical role within a fast-paced digital delivery environment, requiring both hands-on business analysis expertise and the ability to operate at a senior/lead level across multiple workstreams . You will play a key role in driving delivery, shaping requirements, mentoring junior analysts, and ensuring alignment with GDS standards and public sector best practices .

Key Responsibilities Lead business analysis activities across complex government digital programmes Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements, user needs, and functional specifications Work closely with Product Managers, Delivery Managers, Architects, and Engineering teams Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and decision-making sessions at senior levels Own and manage backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria to a high standard Produce artefacts including process maps, service blueprints, and business cases Ensure all deliverables align with GDS service standards and agile methodologies Support discovery, alpha, beta, and live phases of delivery Provide leadership and mentorship to junior Business Analysts Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment Required Experience Extensive experience as a Senior Business Analyst within UK Government / Public Sector environments Mandatory: Active and live SC Clearance (Security Check) Strong, practical experience working within GDS frameworks and standards
