With operations across Australia, China, Europe and USA, we’re continuing to grow and are looking for a motivated Senior Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. About the Role
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you’ll play an integral role in the day‑to‑day financial operations of the business while supporting month‑end reporting, inventory and product costing, and continuous process improvement. This is a broad and varied role that offers plenty of exposure across the finance function and the opportunity to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full accounts payable functions.
Perform daily bank reconciliations and monitor cash receipts and payments.
Prepare month‑end journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
Calculate and maintain accurate landed costs for imported products, including freight, customs duties and other costs.
Assist with inventory reconciliations and product costing.
Prepare BAS, GST and other statutory compliance reports for review.
Assist in preparing monthly management reports, budgets and cash flow forecasts.
Maintain the general ledger and support payroll processing.
Assist with the annual audit and year‑end financial reporting.
Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and system efficiencies.
Provide general accounting support across the finance team as required.
About You
You’ll be someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, has strong attention to detail, and takes pride in delivering accurate, timely work.
You will ideally have:
A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
At least 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
CPA or CA qualification (or currently studying towards completion).
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using ERP or accounting systems (NetSuite experience is highly regarded).
Experience with inventory accounting, landed costing or import costing will be highly regarded.
Good understanding of Australian accounting standards, BAS, GST and statutory compliance.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
