Job Description
Position Title: Accounting & Finance Executive
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reports To: Finance Manager / CFO
Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra
Employment Type: Full-time
Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting & Finance Executive to manage end-to-end accounting operations including accounts payable and receivable, bank and vendor reconciliations, taxation compliance, month-end/year-end closing, financial analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial records, timely compliance, and actionable insights for management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Process and verify supplier invoices for accuracy and timely payment.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and goods received notes.
- Maintain vendor master data, including tax and banking details.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Manage AP aging and prioritize payments based on due dates and cash flow.
- Support month-end close with AP accruals and ledger reconciliations.+2
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Generate and issue customer invoices as per agreed terms.
- Track and follow up on outstanding receivables to ensure timely collections.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve disputes or discrepancies.
- Maintain AR aging reports and escalate overdue accounts as needed.
- Record cash receipts and update customer ledgers accurately.+1
Bank & Vendor Reconciliation
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all operating accounts.
- Reconcile vendor statements with internal records and resolve variances.
- Ensure all transactions are properly classified and posted to the general ledger.
- Investigate and rectify unexplained differences in a timely manner.+2
Taxation & Compliance
- Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.) and TDS returns.
- Ensure timely payment of GST, TDS, and other statutory dues.
- Maintain proper documentation for tax audits and assessments.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants as required.

Month-End & Year-End Closing
- Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and provisions.
- Reconcile key balance sheet accounts (bank, AP, AR, intercompany, fixed assets).
- Assist in preparation of trial balance and finalization of financial statements.
- Ensure all supporting schedules and documentation are complete and accurate.
- Support audit processes by providing required schedules and explanations.+2
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts; report on budget vs. actual performance.
- Prepare management reports with insights on profitability, liquidity, and operational efficiency.
- Support strategic decision-making with financial modeling and scenario analysis.+2
Additional Duties
- Maintain organized financial records and ensure data security.
- Implement and improve internal controls and accounting processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by management.+1
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field (B.Com, BBA, MBA-Finance). CA/ICWA or pursuing is a plus.
- Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance roles.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, Zoho Books).
- Strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
- Knowledge of GST, TDS, and other Indian taxation laws.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and prepare insightful reports.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy in data entry, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication for interacting with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
- Time Management: Ability to meet tight deadlines during month-end and year-end closing.+1
Preferred Qualifications
- CA/ICWA qualification or pursuing OR BCom with MBA Finance OR Expert in Accounting + Taxation
- Experience in ERP implementation or process automation.
- Knowledge of IFRS/Ind AS accounting standards.
