Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance & Accounts team in Hyderabad. The incumbent will be responsible for managing accounting operations, financial reporting, statutory compliance, taxation, audits, payroll accounting, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting expertise, sound knowledge of Indian taxation and compliance regulations, and the ability to drive process improvements while ensuring financial accuracy and integrity.
Key Responsibilities-
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Manage end-to-end accounting operations, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls.
- Maintain accurate financial records and support financial analysis and reporting requirements.
Statutory & Tax Compliance
- Handle GST, TDS, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and other statutory compliances.
- Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and payment of taxes and dues.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and regulatory authorities on compliance matters.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and implement necessary compliance measures.
Legal & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, labour laws, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Maintain statutory registers, licenses, records, and regulatory documentation.
- Support legal and compliance-related filings and documentation.
Audit & Documentation
- Coordinate internal, statutory, tax, and compliance audits.
- Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure proper documentation, record management, and audit readiness at all times.
- Implement audit recommendations and strengthen control mechanisms.
Payroll & Compliance Support
- Oversee payroll accounting and statutory deductions.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure compliance with employee-related statutory requirements.
- Support payroll reconciliations and compliance reporting activities.
Process Improvement & Internal Controls
- Develop and monitor internal control systems and compliance processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.
- Support ERP implementation, automation initiatives, and process standardization.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards and financial reporting practices.
- Expertise in GST, TDS, PF, ESI, labour law compliance, and statutory regulations.
- Working knowledge of the Companies Act and corporate compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Tally, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational capability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CA Inter / CMA Inter preferred.
- Additional certifications in Accounting, Taxation, or Finance will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 5โ8 years of relevant experience in accounting, taxation, statutory compliance, audits, and financial reporting.
- Experience in managing end-to-end finance operations within a corporate environment is preferred.
