Job Description
Provide day-to-day administrative support for RJED housing maintenance activities, including job requests, work orders, schedules, checklists, filing, data entry and reporting information. Assist with the coordination of maintenance jobs, inspections, trades visits, cleaning tasks, participant work activities and follow-up actions as directed by the supervisor. Maintain accurate records of attendance, job progress, materials, equipment, photos, purchase order information, invoices, safety paperwork and completed works.
Communicate respectfully with residents, families, BHAC staff, trades, suppliers, participants and other stakeholders about maintenance arrangements, access, appointments and job progress. Support trades and maintenance staff with safe non-licensed tasks, including site preparation, carrying materials, organizing tools and equipment, collecting supplies, cleaning, pack down and basic maintenance assistance under supervision. Undertake cleaning of houses, work areas, amenities, yards, vehicles and equipment associated with housing maintenance activities, ensuring sites are safe, tidy and ready for works or handover.
Assist with stock, tools, PPE and materials management, including ordering requests, issue and return registers, storage, checking supplies, reporting damage or loss and helping keep work areas organized. Support RJED participants and Indigenous employees engaged in housing maintenance activities to understand attendance, routines, PPE, safety requirements, respectful conduct and workplace expectations. Identify and report practical barriers, urgent maintenance issues, hazards, damage, resident concerns or other matters requiring supervisor, trades, housing or management follow-up.
Protect confidentiality and privacy when working in or around people's homes and when handling records, photos, personal information or maintenance-related documents. This position does not come with housing.
