The Emergency RN’s role is to provide thorough assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for the purpose of promoting, maintaining, or restoring health, preventing illness, injury, and disability. Your duties include triaging patient care and assessing admissions, managing safe discharges or transfers to other units, and prioritizing care needs for the Emergency Department population while working closely within professional interdisciplinary and interdepartmental teams.

Description As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well‑being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making, as well as teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.

You will provide safe, quality, patient- and family‑centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 – $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS‑HCP) certification.

If not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: - CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1‑4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules - NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271. Additional Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of recent cardiac monitoring, critical care or medical/surgical nursing experience. Demonstrated strong prioritization and assessment skills.

Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating workloads. Demonstrated ability to organize and plan care appropriately. Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a busy, fast‑paced environment.

Ability to work and communicate in a team environment. Demonstrated an understanding of family‑centered care within nursing practice. Preferred Qualifications Triage, Trauma and Charge Registered Nurse experience.

Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification. Current TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification. Post‑basic course in Emergency Nursing is preferred (ACCN).

CTAS (Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale) course completion. Calgary Zone Emergency Nursing experience is preferred; other Emergency/Urgent Care Nursing experience will be considered. Basic computer skills are an asset. #J-18808-Ljbffr
