|| JOB DESCRIPTION: PURCHASE MANAGER || Job Summary The Purchase Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s procurement activities, ensuring cost-effective purchasing, timely availability of materials, and maintaining quality standards. The role includes vendor management, contract negotiation, inventory coordination, and compliance with company policies and food safety standards. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies aligned with company goals Manage end-to-end procurement processes including sourcing, negotiation, and order placement Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors as per company standards (including FSSC 22000 compliance where applicable) Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to secure the best value for the organization Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and ensure consistent supply of materials Monitor stock levels and coordinate with internal departments to forecast demand and avoid shortages Ensure timely processing of Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) in ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics) with proper documentation Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance Ensure quality standards are met for all procured materials and resolve issues promptly Coordinate with finance/accounts for approvals, budgeting, and payment processes Prepare and present monthly MIS reports on procurement, cost analysis, and inventory Ensure all major purchases are approved by management before order placement Maintain strict confidentiality of company data and vendor information Oversee inventory control and ensure adequate stock levels at all times Monitor and manage food cost and procurement budgets effectively Key Skills & Competencies Strong negotiation and vendor management skills Excellent communication and coordination abilities Good knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management Analytical mindset with cost-control focus Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) and MS Excel Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Qualification & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field Minimum 5–8 years of experience in procurement/purchasing, preferably in the food industry Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation is essential Preferred candidates from hotel industry & restaurant.
