Project Manager - Software Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead their software development initiatives in Queenstown. This hybrid role requires a professional adept at guiding software projects from conception through to deployment, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to scope, and high-quality outcomes. You will work closely with development teams, product owners, and QA to foster collaboration and drive project success.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and excellent leadership capabilities within a mixed-location team structure.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of software development projects, from requirements gathering to deployment and support.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration between development teams, stakeholders, and management.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks and dependencies, implementing proactive mitigation strategies.
• Oversee the quality assurance process and ensure delivered software meets high standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software project management, preferably using Agile methodologies.
• Proven experience managing software development teams and projects.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including various methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in a hybrid or distributed team environment.
