Product Owner

TechHeads is currently seeking an experienced Product Owner to join a growing technology team responsible for developing and enhancing business-critical operational platforms.

This is a senior role ideally suited to someone who enjoys working at the intersection of product management, technology and delivery. You will take ownership of key internal platforms while leading the successful delivery of technology initiatives through a small engineering team.

The successful candidate will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and software engineering, combining strategic product thinking with strong technical understanding and hands‑on Agile delivery leadership.

This role will be a 9 month Fixed Term Contract with the potential to move to a Permanent position afterwards.

Responsibilities

Product Ownership

• Own and evolve the product roadmap aligned with strategic business objectives.
• Prioritise and maintain a value-driven product backlog.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and user stories.
• Balance commercial priorities, technical debt and delivery capacity.

Delivery Management

• Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement and retrospectives.
• Coordinate software releases and delivery schedules.
• Identify and manage risks, dependencies and delivery blockers.

Technical Product Management

• Work closely with software engineers on architecture, integrations and solution design.
• Define API and system integration requirements.
• Support scalable, secure and high-performing platform development.
• Champion platform reliability, data quality and operational efficiency.
• Help prioritise and reduce technical debt.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Gather, challenge and refine business requirements.
• Clearly communicate project progress, risks and delivery timelines.
• Manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships across technical and operational teams.

Platform Ownership

You will have responsibility for a number of mission-critical business platforms, including:

• Workforce Management Platform
• Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Platform
• System integrations and API connectivity
• Data flows, reporting and business intelligence
• Workflow automation
• Internal operational tools

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience as a Product Owner, Scrum Master or Technical Business Analyst.
• Proven experience leading Agile software delivery teams.
• Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, workflows and data models.
• Experience working with CRM, workforce management, scheduling or other operational software platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance business priorities against technical considerations.
• Experience translating business challenges into practical technology solutions.
