Principal Product Manager
Autodesk, Inc.
Job Description
Position Overview
The AEC industry is perhaps the most collaborative industry in the world – each journey to design → plan → build → operate involves many companies from owners to architects to general contractors to the various trades. Autodesk excels at connecting these entities in the AEC ecosystem through a collaboration platform, and the Forma Administration organization is at the heart of that effort.
Responsibilities
- Develop various services for managing: users & business relationships, collaboration spaces, workflows and data.
- Be the voice of the customer, especially the workspace administrator persona, by bringing deep user and market insights to our engineering and leadership teams.
- Own the full product lifecycle: from early discovery and concept testing to launch, go‑to‑market, enablement, and adoption.
- Deliver a consistent, intuitive workspace setup experience across all Autodesk products.
- Lead the launch of public APIs (create, read, update, delete) to empower integration and extensibility.
- Support regionalization by evolving workspace capabilities to meet diverse global compliance and user needs.
- Build tools that enable admins to configure settings, define custom properties, and manage business units.
- Drive API‑first development and platform product management (building for developers, not just UI).
- Communicate succinctly and accurately, expressing ideas through imagery and prototypes (e.g., Lovable, Figma Make).
- Focus on understanding the customer problem, not the solution.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in B2B SaaS product management (e.g., Salesforce, Shopify, Adobe, OpenText).
- Product leadership experience focused on admin or purchaser personas, or hands‑on experience as a software administrator (e.g., Salesforce Admin).
- Strong communication and storytelling skills are required, whether creating a product wiki, running a customer session, or presenting to leadership.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, approachable ideas.
- Thrives in fast‑paced, collaborative environments and is energized by learning and growth.
- Clear understanding of how to define and track success metrics and KPIs.
- A passion for precision: intentional with language and messaging in both customer and R&D conversations.
