Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Preventive Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on OTIS elevators, escalators, and other vertical transportation equipment assigned within a designated service route or territory. The technician ensures all units operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with OTIS safety standards, local building codes, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) inspections on assigned elevator and escalator units in accordance with OTIS maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
• Conduct routine safety device checks, lubrication, adjustments, and functional testing of all elevator and escalator components.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults; perform corrective maintenance and necessary repairs to restore equipment to full operational condition.
• Respond promptly to service calls, breakdowns, and emergency entrapment situations within the assigned territory.
• Complete accurate maintenance logs, service records, and inspection reports as required by OTIS and applicable regulatory bodies.
• Identify equipment deficiencies and escalate modernization or parts replacement recommendations to the Service Supervisor.
• Ensure strict compliance with OTIS safety policies, DOLE occupational safety standards, and local building/elevator codes.
• Maintain direct and professional communication with building administrators and clients regarding unit status, maintenance schedules, and findings.
• Support installation, testing & commissioning, and modernization (Retrolift) activities as directed.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working condition.
• Participate in OTIS technical training programs and stay updated on new elevator technologies and systems.

Requirements

Job Qualifications

• Graduate of BS Electrical Engineering, BS Electronics Engineering, BS Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related technical course.
• Minimum of 1–3 years experience in elevator/escalator maintenance, electro-mechanical systems, or related field service work.
• Fresh graduates with strong technical background are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledgeable in electrical wiring, control panels, motor drives, and safety devices.
• Familiarity with DOLE safety regulations and local building/elevator codes is preferred.
• Willing to be assigned in the field and travel within the designated service territory.
• Physically fit to perform tasks at height and in confined spaces.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.
• Technical proficiency in electro-mechanical systems
• Safety-first mindset and compliance orientation
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
