The Role This role suits a Software Engineer with strong PHP/Laravel experience who wants more than just tickets and maintenance work. You’ll be involved in building, improving, and scaling systems - with exposure across different products and the opportunity to take ideas from concept through to deployment. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain scalable backend applications Take features from concept through to production Work across multiple live products and systems Debug, optimise, and improve existing codebases Write clean, maintainable, production-ready code Contribute to technical discussions and code reviews Tech Environment PHP, Laravel Docker, GitLab, CI/CD, monitoring tools What They’re Looking For Strong experience with PHP and Laravel Solid understanding of OOP and API development Experience working with databases and complex queriesAbility to write scalable, maintainable code Someone proactive who enjoys solving problems and taking ownership Nice to Have Exposure to AI/ML-driven products Experience with Node.js or Python Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks Why This Role Stands Out Work across multiple products, not just one system Real ownership and impact from early on Fast-moving environment with strong growth plans Opportunity to progress quickly as the team scales At Stockford Recruitment, we help startups and SMEs grow by connecting them with exceptional tech talent.
