Job Title: Java/Kotlin Developer Location: Sheffield Salary/Rate: £407 PD Start Date: 11/05/2026 Job Type: Contract Company Introduction: A Global banking and financial services organisation focused on investment banking Job Responsibilities/Objectives Collaborate with developers, testers, and wider stakeholders to build and operate scalable products Design, develop, and implement backend and light frontend features aligned to product backlog priorities Work closely with engineering teams to design and deliver new features Engage directly with users to troubleshoot issues and respond to feature requests Required Skills/Experience Strong experience in Kotlin, or Java with a willingness to transition to Kotlin Proven experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence Solid understanding of microservices architecture Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities Desirable Skills/Experience Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Jenkins Background in Systems Administration (Linux, AIX, WAS) Exposure to test automation practices Disclaimer: Notwithstanding any guidelines given to level of experience sought, we will consider candidates from outside this range if they can demonstrate the necessary competencies.
