Job Description: The Payroll Accounting Analyst 4 is responsible for leading complex payroll financial operations, ensuring end-to-end accuracy of payroll accounting, and providing advanced analysis and oversight of payroll-related financial activities. This role serves as a subject-matter expert for cross-functional partners, leads process improvements and system enhancements, supports global payroll initiatives, and ensures compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and regulatory standards. Own the calculation of the commission and bonus calculations in partnership with the FP&A team to calibrate on attainment.

Lead preparation, reconciliation, and analysis of the most complex payroll-related general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of variances across multiple entities and jurisdictions. Oversee and execute advanced month-end and year-end close activities, including high-impact journal entries, accrual models, global payroll adjustments, and financial statement support. Act as a senior liaison between Payroll, HR, Tax, and Accounting to validate payroll data integrity, resolve escalations, interpret regulations, and ensure end-to-end process alignment.

Perform advanced analytics on payroll trends, and variances; provide insights and recommendations to Finance leadership. Lead design, testing, and implementation of payroll accounting system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process improvements. Serve as a subject-matter expert on payroll accounting policies, compliance requirements, tax implications, and global payroll financial operations Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or relevant field.

Preferred: CPA, CPP, CMA, or equivalent professional certification. Requirements 3-6+ years of progressive experience in payroll accounting, general ledger accounting, or payroll operations. Extensive experience with enterprise payroll and ERP systems (, Workday, Cloud Pay, Xactly).

Strong background in multi-state payroll accounting; global payroll experience strongly preferred. Proven experience supporting audits and operating in a SOX-compliant environment. Experience with complex commission and sales compensation plans Knowledge · Deep expertise in GAAP as applied to payroll, benefits, and compensation accounting. · Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations, benefit accounting, and wage-and-hour rules. · Thorough knowledge of month-end close cycles, financial reporting, and cross-functional payroll integrations.

Skills · Advanced reconciliation and root-cause analysis capabilities. · Expert Excel skills and comfort working with large, complex data sets. · Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings to leadership. · Project management skills, especially related to process optimization and system enhancements.
