Ottawa Engineering Student Position

Gain valuable experience as an Engineering/Technical Student within the Canadian Buildings Division in Ottawa. This 4-month role, available from September to December 2026, offers hands-on exposure in construction environments. We're searching for engineering students pursuing a degree or diploma in civil engineering.

This position involves a variety of tasks, from conducting deficiency walks to updating and coordinating drawings. You’ll also track site progress and participate in project meetings, enhancing your practical skills and understanding of the construction process. Prior field experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities: • Conduct deficiency walks and supervise sub-trade work • Take and coordinate progress photos regularly • Track site progress and input deficiency logs • Verify site conditions in relation to construction drawings • Produce as-built drawings and maintain record keeping Requirements: • Actively pursuing a degree in civil engineering • Passion for working in construction environments • Proficient in computer software, including spreadsheets • Self-motivated and hands-on approach preferred • Prior construction field experience is a plus Elevate your engineering career while gaining practical skills in Ottawa's construction sector with this student role. #J-18808-Ljbffr
