Operations Manager

GSCI Advanced Photonics is looking for an Operations Manager based at our Production and Engineering facility in Woodbridge, ON to lead and scale internal operations across production, supply chain, and logistics in a fast-paced defense manufacturing environment. You will own the end-to-end execution of operations, ensuring customer orders move from planning through production to shipment with accuracy and visibility at every stage. This role requires a strong project management mindset, with responsibility for building and maintaining systems (ERP, workflows, SOPs), coordinating closely with sales to align on priorities and timelines, and driving execution across engineering, production, and supply chain to ensure consistent on-time delivery.

This role is part of the leadership team, contributing to company-wide priorities and decision-making. Key Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate daily operations across production, supply chain, and logistics Set clear priorities to ensure on-time order fulfillment and resolve operational bottlenecks Lead and support cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, and inventory control Maintain ERP (Epicor) integrity and ensure accurate, consistent data across departments Build and implement SOPs to improve consistency, quality, and throughput Oversee production scheduling and job readiness with support from team leads Monitor inventory health and material availability with oversight of the Ops/Logistics team Collaborate on vendor management and purchasing alignment Provide weekly operational updates and performance metrics to leadership Act as the bridge between sales, engineering, and production to keep work flowing smoothly What We’re Looking For Strong operations or project management background (manufacturing preferred) Experience leading cross-functional teams and improving workflows High degree of ownership, organization, and execution Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Experience with ERP systems (Epicor experience is an asset) Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution What Success Looks Like Operations run predictably, without constant intervention Production targets and delivery dates are consistently met The team operates with clear systems, accountability, and communication Leadership has full visibility into performance and risks This is a fully on-site role based at our Woodbridge, ON facility.
