Job Description

Melet Plastics and Ambutech design and manufacture innovative products across multiple industries, including medical devices and consumer goods. We’re focused on building reliable processes, strong compliance, and a culture of continuous improvement—so our products perform safely and consistently for customers. The role As the Quality Manager, you will own and continuously improve our Quality Management System (QMS), lead internal and external audits, and partner with Operations, Engineering, and Suppliers to reduce scrap, prevent defects, and strengthen customer satisfaction.

Reports to: VP, Engineering You’re a practical, hands‑on quality leader and critical thinker who proactively improves systems and prevents issues through audits, data‑driven problem solving, and strong cross‑functional communication. What you’ll do Own and continuously improve the QMS aligned to ISO 9001 (quality manual, policy, procedures, work instructions, control plans, PFMEA, etc.). Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management systems aligned to ISO 14001.

Define and maintain production and quality standards for each product. Identify process and product risks early; lead root‑cause analysis and preventative actions. Plan and lead internal/external audits; document findings and drive timely closure of non‑conformances and corrective actions.

Lead 8D investigations for customer concerns and internal quality incidents. Track and report key metrics (e.g., scrap rate) and drive actions on top issues. Maintain ISO 9001 registration and ensure ongoing QMS compliance and effectiveness.

Partner with Operations and Engineering to support continuous improvement and reject/scrap reduction. Lead qualification activities for new products, including PPAP where required. Lead in‑process inspection activities to ensure products meet all quality requirements.

Ensure conformance with applicable regulatory and customer standards (e.g., CSA where applicable). Oversee incoming inspections for raw materials and outsourced processes. Own supplier quality management, including performance monitoring and corrective actions.

Chair Management Review meetings and ensure documented follow‑through on actions. Build and develop a strong QA team through coaching, training, and performance feedback. What you’ll bring Post‑secondary education in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.

Strong organization skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple priorities. Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, including audit readiness and documentation control. Experience using measurement and metrology instruments.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working across departments. Assets (nice to have) Experience with CMM and/or 3D scanner inspection. Understanding of lean manufacturing / continuous improvement principles.
