We are looking for an Operations Executive to join our Mumbai team and manage the end-to-end operational execution of international commodity trades.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in trade contracts, shipment coordination, container bookings, shipping documentation and liaison with buyers, sellers, freight forwarders and shipping lines.
Responsibilities
• Prepare, review and coordinate purchase and sales contracts for international commodity transactions.
• Manage the complete order-to-delivery trade operations cycle.
• Coordinate container bookings with shipping lines / freight forwarders and monitor shipment schedules.
• Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, CHA/customs brokers and other service providers.
• Prepare and verify shipping and commercial documentation including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, Certificates of Analysis, Insurance documents and other export/import documents.
• Track shipments from origin to destination and ensure timely documentation and delivery.
• Coordinate with banks for LC / payment-related documentation, wherever applicable.
• Ensure that contractual terms, shipment deadlines and documentation requirements are complied with.
• Maintain proper records of contracts, shipments, invoices, logistics costs and related correspondence.
• Liaise with internal sales and accounts teams for smooth execution and settlement of trades.
• Handle operational issues, delays, documentation discrepancies and claims in coordination with relevant parties.
• Support management in improving trade execution and logistics processes.
Qualifications
• Graduate with 3–5 years of relevant experience in commodity trading, international trading, export/import, shipping or logistics operations.
• Good understanding of international trade and Incoterms.
• Hands-on experience in container booking and shipment documentation is essential.
• Experience in handling trade contracts / purchase orders / sales contracts will be preferred.
• Good understanding of export-import procedures and shipping documentation.
• Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
• Good command of MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments / transactions simultaneously.
• Candidates from commodity trading houses, international trading companies, exporters/importers, freight forwarding or shipping companies will be preferred.
