Operational Excellence Manager – Diabetes Division, Donegal

Primary Function: The position is responsible for creating and leading the advancement of Operational Excellence principles and practices across the site through internal and external collaborations, delivering high impact sustainable business results.

Major Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategy for operational excellence aligned with company and divisional goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to establish a multiyear roadmap and implementation plan to drive operational excellence effectiveness across the organisation.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to build awareness, understanding, and support for change initiatives.

Operational Excellence Program Management

  • Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the operational excellence program.
  • Develop and deploy standardized methodologies, tools, and frameworks for process improvement, such as Shingo, Lean Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Establish metrics and tracking mechanisms to assess the effectiveness and impact of operational excellence initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting employee engagement and involvement in process improvement initiatives.

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field with a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role/environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt certification and/or strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Champion engaged high‑performing teams through the Mindful Leader principles where respectful challenge is embraced in pursuit of collaborative outcomes.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully leading and managing operational excellence initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
