About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support our Engineering Team at the Sino Iron Project. The role will include preventative, reactive and shutdown maintenance and project work as required. Assisting engineering to carry out improvements and technical fault finding for our team at Sino Iron.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the supervisors on all technical and engineering issues from a Mechanical Engineer perspective.
- Creating a detailed project plan that outlines the project's objectives, construction methodology, scope, timelines, budget manhours, and resources.
- Continually monitoring the project's progress, identifying potential issues, and taking corrective action to keep the project on track.
- Estimating and preparing project quotations by liaising with the supervisors and other engineers.
- Coordinate the interface between design, engineering and vendors. Support procurement of equipment and materials.
- Communicating with client, internal team members, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records, including project plans, budgets, schedules, and progress reports.
- Managing changes to the project scope, timelines, and budget effectively.
- Identifying potential risks and developing plans to mitigate them.
- Ensuring that the project meets the required quality standards, including testing, inspection, and verification. Develop MDR’s, ITP’s, checklists, and all other quality documents required for the projects.
What We Look For

- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to draft and create methodologies for tasks.
- Ability to interpret, identify equipment parts and their function.
- Australian electrical principles and statutory requirements.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings effectively.
- 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical engineer.
Qualifications
- Australian recognised mechanical engineering degree.
- OHS Construction Safety Induction 'White Card'.
- Valid Australian driver's licence.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and ongoing drug & alcohol screens.
- Australian work rights.
