Job DescriptionMechanical Engineer Reporting To: Project Manager / Engineering Manager Position: Full-time Working Hours: 45 hours per week Salary: Dependent on experience Location: Based on various mechanical projects Duties Liaise with clients and assist in managing mechanical projects. Lead mechanical engineering projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. Perform engineering calculations and simulations, including stress analysis, thermal analysis, and fluid dynamics, using tools such as ANSYS or similar.
Carry out site surveys and engineering inspection activities. Analyse and review mechanical design documents. Write mechanical specifications and support troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
Provide technical support to the Mechanical Site Management Team. Manage mechanical documentation, ensuring the relevant registers and logs are kept up to date. Manage mechanical system handovers with site-based commissioning specialists.
Collaborate with production teams to ensure manufacturability and provide technical support during manufacturing processes. Evaluate RFI responses and ensure engineering issues are resolved. Ensure Site Management is working from the latest specifications and drawings.
Prepare mechanical technical submittals according to the specifications. Participate in ongoing improvement initiatives to enhance design processes, reduce costs, and improve quality. Populate mechanical test packs and collate test record sheets for system completion.
Collate mechanical O&M manual documentation for inclusion in final handover documents. Ensure the Project Quality Plan and associated Mechanical Inspection Test Plan are followed for each system. Previous Experience and Qualifications Minimum of 3 years experience.
Third-level qualification. Mechanical knowledge and experience gained from either a trade or academic background. Ability to work well within strict deadlines and on own initiative.
Excellent communication skills. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent attention to detail.
Desirable Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks. Previous construction site experience. Renewable energy knowledge is beneficial.
