Marketing Generalist
SILQ - Legal Software
Job Description
The role on offer
An exciting opportunity has come up to join SILQ's marketing team in a part‑time capacity for a fixed‑term, maternity‑leave contract. We're looking for a Marketing Generalist who will report directly to the Interim Head of Marketing. This hands‑on role will keep our brand visible, credible, and active in the Australian legal market.
Duration: August 2026 – July 2027 (flexible start date for the right candidate)
3 days per week · Monday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Friday
Hybrid — 2 days in office (Sydney), 1 day WFH
Salary: $65,000–$70,000 for 3 days per week (package inc. super), based on experience. ($108,000-$116,000 FTE)
What you'll be doing:
Content and Communications
Writing and producing blogs, client case studies, and sponsored articles that speak authoritatively to legal professionals.
Social Media
Managing and posting across our channels (primarily LinkedIn), including scheduling, copy, and community engagement. You’ll also respond to G2 reviews in a way that reflects our brand voice.
Email Marketing and Campaigns
Writing and coordinating email campaigns and our quarterly newsletter as well as supporting broader campaign execution across digital channels.
Search and Digital Advertising (SEM/SEO)
Supporting the management of Google Ads campaigns, including assisting with copy, monitoring performance, and flagging optimisation opportunities. You’ll also contribute to on‑page SEO — working with the team on keyword alignment, meta copy, and ensuring our content is set up to be found.
AI‑Assisted Marketing and AEO
Leveraging AI tools to improve content quality, speed up production, and optimise for how people are increasingly finding information, including answer engine optimisation (AEO). This means writing and structuring content with AI‑assisted search in mind, alongside traditional SEO, so our brand shows up wherever our audience searches.
Using AI tools to test, refine, and improve the performance of our website landing pages, from copy and structure through to conversion. You’ll bring an informed eye to what’s working and a willingness to iterate quickly.
Campaign Coordination
Assisting in the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns, coordinating timelines, assets, and stakeholders to bring campaigns to life on time and on brief.
Writing webinar descriptions for registration pages and producing slide decks that are clear, well‑structured, and on brand. You’ll also handle on‑the‑day logistics including Q&A moderation.
Ad Hoc Marketing Support
Given our small team, you may be asked to take on tasks beyond the above, whether that’s promoting an award win, updating website copy, or contributing to a new campaign idea. A can‑do attitude and willingness to get involved in all facets of marketing is essential.
About you:
- 4-6 years of experience across marketing, communications, or content, ideally in a B2B environment where you’ve worked across multiple channels.
- Strong writing across formats. You’re equally comfortable with a 1,000‑word thought leadership piece and a punchy 150‑word LinkedIn caption.
- A generalist’s mindset: you’re happy to pivot between a campaign brief, an SEO task, and a social post in the same week.
- Familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity or similar) and an understanding of how they’re changing search and content discovery. AEO experience is a real plus.
- Once you’re up to speed, we value the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience in the legal industry is preferred. Given this is an 11‑month fixed‑term contract, the ability to learn quickly and hit the ground running is essential. If you haven’t worked in legal, please share examples of how you’ve come up to speed quickly in a new industry.
Experience with:
- CMS and marketing automation platforms, particularly HubSpot (blogs, email, workflows)
- Social media management and community engagement (LinkedIn and G2)
- Google Ads and Google Search Console; familiarity with SEO tools such as Moz is highly regarded
- AI content and optimisation tools (ChatGPT, Claude or similar)
- Basic graphic design skills are highly regarded, but not essential.
Please note a willingness to learn is more powerful than mastering every marketing channel outlined above. If you feel confident in 60%-80% of the tasks listed in this role, we encourage you to apply.
