Production Support Engineer – Swords, Co. Dublin

Our client, a global leader in precision engineering, is seeking a hands‑on Production Support Engineer to join their team in Swords. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a dynamic manufacturing environment, supporting engineering projects across a diverse range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, and medical devices.

This is a day shift position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support existing manufacturing processes and drive continuous process improvements.
  • Define, develop, and validate manufacturing processes for new and upgraded products.
  • Provide technical support for mechanical and electrical assembly jigs, fixtures, and bespoke test equipment.
  • Conduct process analysis and prepare product quality reports.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to drive quality improvements and maintain high manufacturing standards.
  • Work closely with Product Design teams to ensure products are designed for efficient and effective assembly (Design for Assembly principles).

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Min 12 months experience in a medium‑to‑high-volume manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of structured problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Practical experience applying Six Sigma tools, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), Gauge R&R studies, and Process Capability analysis, would be advantageous.
  • Experience using business intelligence tools for data analysis is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and real‑time data analytics, including Power BI, SQL, VBA, and advanced Excel.
  • Experience leading or participating in Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Experience designing, validating, and implementing assembly fixtures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including GD&T.
