Data Modeling Manager 100% Remote within Canada Salary: $220,000 CAD Confidential | High‑Growth SaaS Company We’re hiring a hands‑on Data Modeling Manager to lead the design and stewardship of core data models and shared metrics that power analytics, in‑product insights, and AI/ML use cases across the company. This role is for a leader who is passionate about foundational, reusable data models —not ad‑hoc analytics or stakeholder‑specific data marts—and who enjoys working at the intersection of Product, Data Platform, Analytics, and ML. What You’ll Do Own and evolve core data models and shared metrics (product usage, customer, account, business KPIs) Build and operate foundational data products using SQL, Python, and Spark in a modern lakehouse (e.g., Databricks) Define and steward shared semantics and metric definitions used across teams and systems Partner closely with Product, Data Platform, Analytics, Data Science, and ML Set pragmatic technical direction around modeling standards, orchestration (Airflow/Astronomer), and architecture Lead and mentor a small team while remaining deeply hands‑on What You Bring 2+ years leading or managing data professionals 6+ years building shared, reusable data models in modern data platforms Strong experience with SaaS product and customer data Advanced SQL , strong Python , Spark , and lakehouse experience Operational mindset around data quality, reliability, availability, and cost Reuse‑first, systems‑level thinking with a pragmatic delivery approach Nice to Have Experience supporting AI/ML model training Background in data platform or data infrastructure teams Why This Role High ownership of company‑wide data foundations Direct impact on analytics, product insights, and AI/ML Emphasis on craft, durability, and trust , not one‑off reporting Small, high‑leverage team with strong cross‑functional visibility
