Job Description
Key Responsibilities โ Plant Cost Accountant Budgeting & Cost Planning : Support preparation of annual plant budgets in alignment with production plans and business targets. Coordinate with plant operations, procurement, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost projections. Cost Monitoring & Variance Analysis : Track actual plant costs (material, labor, overheads) against budget and standard costs.
Analyze variances and highlight key drivers impacting cost efficiency, with actionable recommendations. Plant MIS & Reporting : Prepare and circulate plant-level MIS reports covering production costs, consumption trends, and operational KPIs. Support monthly reviews (BRC, QRM) with detailed cost insights and performance analysis.
Cost Control & Optimization : Drive cost control initiatives across raw materials, utilities, wastage, and manpower. Monitor product-wise and batch-wise costing to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities. Inventory & Material Costing : Oversee inventory valuation, material consumption tracking, and reconciliation with production records.
Ensure accuracy in BOM (Bill of Materials) and standard costing in the system. ERP / SAP Costing : Ensure effective utilization of SAP/ERP systems for product costing, inventory tracking, and MIS generation. Support new product costing, cost roll-ups, and system updates for accurate financial reporting.
Data Analysis for Cost Efficiency : Leverage data analytics to identify trends in cost drivers, yield losses, and process inefficiencies. Recommend measures to improve margins and optimize plant performance. Cross-functional Coordination : Work closely with production, maintenance, and procurement teams to align financial insights with operational actions.
Act as a finance partner to plant leadership for decision-making. Audit, Controls & Compliance : Support internal and external audits by providing plant-level financial data and clarifications. Ensure adherence to cost accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
