Management Accountant

Salary: Β£44,000 per annum
Location: Belfast, Hybrid working available following successful completion of 6-month probation

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our client's finance team. This is a varied role that combines management accounting, financial reporting, analysis, billing oversight and operational finance support within a fast-paced professional services environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate financial information, supporting business decision-making and ensuring the smooth running of finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and variance analysis.

  • Produce regular management information and performance reports for stakeholders.

  • Analyse financial performance, operational metrics and key business data.

  • Support budgeting, forecasting and business planning activities.

  • Manage billing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.

  • Prepare journals, reconciliations and accounting entries.

  • Assist with VAT returns, payroll-related activities and other statutory requirements.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.

  • Provide support and cover across finance functions when required.

  • Contribute to process improvements and finance-related projects.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial regulations and company policies.

About You

You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with proven experience in management accounting and financial reporting.

You should also have:

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong knowledge of finance systems.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • The ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting a wider finance team.

  • Full rights to work unrestricted in the United Kingdom

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within a professional services environment.

  • Billing and credit control experience.

  • Accounts preparation knowledge.

  • Experience supporting payroll, VAT and compliance activities.

  • Exposure to working across multiple finance functions.
