Position

Maintenance Technician – Full Time

Work closely with the Senior Facility Manager and Facility Manager to maintain the clubhouse and related facilities (dining spaces, offices, washrooms, locker rooms, range hut, tennis house, halfway house) to ensure a clean, safe and well-presented environment for members, guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Facility Manager and Facility Manager with the overall maintenance of the facility, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, building equipment repairs, painting, carpentry and special projects. Liaise with external contractors and inspectors; identify and assess maintenance issues; conduct daily inspections.
  • Maintain log books for projects and HVAC systems.
  • Receive deliveries and store items related to maintenance.
  • Report maintenance deficiencies to the Senior Facility Manager.
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance work safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to members and guests.
  • Perform end‑of‑day cleanup and touch‑ups as needed.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of all fire emergency systems and complete monthly fire extinguisher audits.
  • Repair faults promptly to minimize inconvenience to members; perform preparatory work for maintenance activities; gather equipment, materials, and supplies as required.
  • Communicate effectively with co‑workers, members, guests and supervisors; assist other departments as needed (e.g., event setup).
  • Perform routine physical labour and coordinate with the cleaning department for special events.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies related to environmental, building code and health and safety issues.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Facility Manager to coordinate major building efficiencies and repairs; perform work safely and wear PPE as required.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Senior Facility Manager; assess mechanical malfunctions and contact appropriate service providers.
  • Work with the cleaning department to coordinate special event functions.

Skills & Requirements

  • 1–3 years of proven experience in general building maintenance and repairs in a professional environment.
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent; basic knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, painting and general repair.
  • Experience with power saws, maintenance equipment and general shop tools; ability to work with chemicals and solvents.
  • Valid driver’s license; must provide a criminal background certificate.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, move and push objects up to 75 lbs, and lift more with assistance; accurate measuring skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication; service‑oriented, courteous and friendly; able to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team; able to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Comfort with sitting, standing, climbing stairs, walking, bending, crouching and kneeling.

$23–$25/hr
