Job Description
InterRent REIT is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our Operations team at our North Murray Street community in Trenton. We're seeking a skilled and dependable maintenance professional with a customer-first mindset and a passion for creating exceptional living environments. In this hands-on role, you'll help ensure our community remains safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently while delivering outstanding service and support to our residents.
Compensation
- $23.00 - $25.00/hr based on skills and experience.
- Three weeks of paid vacation annually, starting on day 1 of employment.
- Additionally, all employees participate in our comprehensive benefits program, which includes health, dental, and prescription drug coverage for both employees and their dependents, with 100% of premiums covered by the employer.
Responsibilities
In addition to the responsibilities typically expected of a maintenance professional, responsibilities will include:
- Performing repairs to rental properties as needed, during occupancy and during the transition of residents from units (turnovers).
- Performing routine and scheduled preventative maintenance of properties.
- Maintaining general upkeep of the properties to ensure all amenities are in good working order and operating to the satisfaction of our residents.
- Responding to emergency calls.
- Completing all approved maintenance related work orders.
- Taking initiative when corrective action is necessary and removing any identified hazards.
- Painting as necessary.
- Ensuring a thorough knowledge and understanding of all health, safety and emergency procedures.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge and professional experience in a wide variety of residential maintenance and light renovation tasks.
- General understanding of residential building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and heating systems.
- Experience in performing basic appliance and fixture repairs is considered a strong asset.
- Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
Additional Information
- Most work will be completed on-site at 81-99 North Murray Street, Trenton, ON. The successful candidate may be required to work at other locations based on operational needs and at the discretion of the employer.
- Must have valid, class G driverβs license, access to personal vehicle, and clean drivers abstract.
- Must have tools necessary to complete basic maintenance tasks. Any specialty tools required will be provided by the employer.
- Ability to respond to emergencies during regular operating hours.
- Participation in an after-hours rotational response team may be required.
