Job DescriptionWe are currently recruiting for an experiencedMaintenance Technicianon behalf of our client, a leading manufacturing organisation. This is a permanent opportunity within a fast-paced, automated production environment. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Technician will play a key role in maintaining and improving automated production equipment, maximising equipment availability and supporting continuous improvement across the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities: Build upon and continuously improve existing process and equipment design to optimise production processes. Drive yield improvement through effective planned preventative maintenance and rapid response to equipment breakdowns. Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on automated production equipment.

Provide technical input into equipment installation, commissioning and maintenance activities. Carry out calibration of production and process equipment. Use PLC programmes and diagnostic tools to identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical faults.

Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and automated equipment issues. Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability, efficiency and production output. Work collaboratively with Engineering and Production teams to minimise downtime and maintain production performance.

Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with site health & safety procedures and company standards. Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety throughout all maintenance activities. Requirements: Diploma/qualification in Industrial Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a relevant trade qualification is advantageous.

Minimum 2 years' experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Experience working with special-purpose automated equipment and pick-and-place systems. Working knowledge of PLCs, pneumatic systems, actuators, AC motors and motor controllers.

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability across automated manufacturing equipment. Good computer literacy. Ability and willingness to work a 12-hour shift pattern.
