The role focuses on inpatient consults, surgical backup, and ICU rounding. Shift Details: Friday 12 PM – Monday 7 AM, 24-hour call Coverage: 3 weekends per month Average callbacks: 2–4 hours per day including rounding Adult patient population (18) EMR: EPIC Key Responsibilities: Provide surgical backup for urgent cardiac cases Manage patients from cath lab to surgery, or ICU to home Collaborate with APPs and hospital staff to ensure patient care Handle urgent consults and post-operative rounding Special Procedures: General cardiothoracic surgery (no TAVRs) Requirements Board-Certified (BC) or Board-Eligible (BE) in Cardiac Surgery Pennsylvania medical license DEA registration required Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in cardiac surgery Benefits Short-term locum assignment with structured weekend schedule Hospital-based practice environment with full support staff EPIC EMR for streamlined patient documentation Credentialing support and expedited processing available Exposure to urgent and post-operative cardiac care
