THE ROLE We are looking for an experienced Senior Legal Associate to join Doceree's in-house legal team in Noida. This role goes beyond day-to-day contract execution: you will own template development, playbook creation, and process infrastructure for the contracting function, while handling a portfolio of complex commercial agreements independently.

This role sits at the intersection of: Commercial contracting Data privacy & healthcare regulation AI-enabled legal operations Reporting to the Associate Director - Legal, you will be a senior individual contributor who shapes how Doceree's legal function scales. You will interact directly with US-based commercial teams, senior business stakeholders, and external counterparty counsel. The work is fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional, and demands both legal precision and commercial judgment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO Own end-to-end negotiation of complex commercial agreements including NDAs, Statements of Work, Insertion Orders, Amendments, Master Service Agreements, Data related agreements (DVAs, DPAs, TPAs and DUAs). Comfort engaging with data-related clauses (data sharing, confidentiality, and basic data protection obligations) in commercial agreements. Provide first-line guidance on data privacy obligations under HIPAA, CCPA, and GDPR as they arise in commercial contracts, escalating and coordinating with external counsel where required.

Build and maintain negotiation playbooks for each contract type, including preferred positions, acceptable fallbacks, and escalation triggers. Primary focus will be on complex commercial contracting and negotiation, with gradual ownership of playbooks, templates, and process improvements. Independently manage end-to-end contract lifecycle from intake to execution.

Identify legal and commercial risks and propose mitigation strategies. Manage the contracting pipeline with end-to-end TAT ownership and proactive status reporting to the AD - Legal. Identify process inefficiencies and propose automation or CLM enhancements to reduce manual workload.

Contribute to legal ops initiatives including CLM tool optimisation, contract tracking, and reporting infrastructure. Support junior team members with contract knowledge, review feedback, and structured mentoring where required. WHO YOU ARE You bring the following to this role: 3 to 8 years of post-qualification experience in commercial contracting, with demonstrated independent ownership of complex negotiations.

Deep working knowledge of MSA, SoW, NDA, IO, DPA, and Addendum structures across technology, SaaS, adtech, or pharma / life sciences commercial models. Proven ability to build and maintain negotiation playbooks - not just use them. Working familiarity with US data privacy frameworks including HIPAA, CCPA, and GDPR as they manifest in commercial DPAs and MSAs.

Experience with CLM tools for pipeline management and workflow automation (SpotDraft, Ironclad, Icertis, or equivalent). Comfort operating as the primary legal interface for senior business stakeholders and external counsel on commercial matters. Ability to independently identify material risk deviations and propose and defend well-reasoned legal positions without senior oversight on standard matters.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English: correspondence and live negotiation with US-based commercial teams is a core part of this role. LL.B. or B.A. LL.B. from a recognised institution.

Prior in-house experience at a technology, SaaS, health tech, pharma or global adtech company. Preferred: Exposure to AI-assisted contract review tools (Harvey, Wordsmith AI, GC AI, Ivo, Spellbook, or equivalent) or general LLM tools (Claude, ChatGPT) applied to legal workflows will be considered a differentiator from other candidates. Experience supporting or leading legal ops initiatives including CLM implementation, contract tracking dashboards, or team-level process design.

Understanding of US programmatic advertising, HCP data ecosystems, or pharma commercial contracting models.
