Job Description
Our Client: A global professional services firm specializing in engineering and design.
Contract Type: Casual, Duration: 12 months (subject to extension), Location: Perth-based with occasional site travel.
Summary
Lead Electrical Engineer to support and lead the delivery of multiple sustaining capital projects. This role provides technical leadership in electrical engineering design, manages project deliverables, mentors team members, and ensures high standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction across mining and utilities projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design for projects across all phases, from concept through detailed design and construction support.
- Prepare and review electrical design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Coordinate closely with multi-disciplinary teams including mechanical, civil, and structural engineers.
- Act as the primary electrical point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Support project management activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and commissioning support where required.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Participate in proposal preparation, project planning, and business development activities.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality assurance, risk management, and HSE compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in an engineering consultancy environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading electrical design on medium to large-scale projects.
- Professional Engineer / Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of power distribution, lighting, grounding, and building services systems.
- Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, or similar.
- Familiarity with international and local electrical codes and standards.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary design environment.
