Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Lead Design Engineer with strong expertise in Aero Engine Product Change Management for civil aerospace programs. The role involves leading the design and implementation of product change solutions across aero engine modules, ensuring compliance with airworthiness regulations, APQP processes, and customer requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting build-stop, on-wing, MRO, redesign, producibility, and in-service initiatives while driving technical excellence across complex engine architectures including fan, compressor, combustor, turbine, and external modules.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of aero engine product change solutions for civil aerospace programs, addressing:
- Build Stop requirements
- On-Wing support activities
- MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) requirements
- In-service and overhaul modifications
Develop and implement design solutions across engine modules including:
- Fan Systems
- Compressors
- Combustors
- Turbines
- External Components
- Execute product changes in compliance with APQP processes and industry best practices while ensuring reduced design cycle time and improved product quality.
Interpret functional and technical requirements to develop medium-to-high complexity engineering solutions supporting:
- Redesign activities
- Production and build support
- Producibility improvements
- Part and module transfer projects
- Cost reduction initiatives
- Weight optimization programs
Lead design reviews and technical assessments, recommending milestone approvals including:
- Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR)
- Critical Design Reviews (CDR)
- Ensure compliance with:
- EASA airworthiness requirements
- Product specifications
- Engineering standards
- Regulatory and certification requirements
- Prepare and deliver complete engineering design packages including requirements, validation, verification, and certification documentation.
- Perform design approval activities and provide technical leadership across engine programs and cross-functional teams.
Drive application of engineering best practices including:
- DFMEA (Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis)
- DFX Methodologies (Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, Serviceability, Cost)
- Requirements Management
- Verification & Validation (V&V)
- Control Items (CIs)
- Key Characteristics (KCs)
- Special Requirements Management
- Support risk identification, mitigation planning, and resolution of complex technical issues throughout the product lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in aero engine design and product change management within the aerospace industry.

- Hands-on experience in supporting civil aerospace engine programs and product change implementation.
- Proven experience in conducting and leading technical design reviews and engineering approvals.
- Strong understanding of EASA certification requirements and regulatory compliance processes.
- Expertise in DFMEA, DFX methodologies, Requirements Management, Verification & Validation, and Design Assurance practices.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance for complex engineering challenges.
