ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION Want to learn more about our operation, please visit www.thelabourmarketgroup.ca YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE: Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will support the workforce planning board by ensuring data products and analysis are available for our constituents and partners. You will be responsible for: · Collect, clean, and analyze labour market data to generate high-quality reports and data products pertaining to the Nipissing and Parry Sound Districts; · Maintain database and calibrate the monthly job report, including trend analysis and recommendations; · Assisting with the annual labour market planning process; · Present labour market insights to groups of various sizes which include constituents, community partners, ministry representatives and the general public; · Support additional research and data projects as assigned. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED · Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Power BI and Python is a valuable asset. · Proven ability to clean, manipulate, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources. · Self-starter with a high level of motivation and the ability to work independently · Flexible to sudden changes in priorities of workload · Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbally and in writing), including the ability to present data in a clear and compelling way to both technical and non-technical audiences. · Intermediate knowledge of NOC and NAICS codes a significant asset · Creative approach to designing reports, visualizations, and automations that improve data accessibility, clarity, and impact.

Your Work Schedule: Schedule: Up to a maximum of 15 hrs of remote work per week at $25.00/hour As the workforce planning board for the Nipissing and Parry Sound districts, the Labour Market Group takes pride in providing the most updated evidence- based data products for our communities. Using the latest analytics tools and processes, we are able to maximize our offerings and deliver unparalleled service and support. To help carry us even further, we’re searching for an experienced data analyst to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in all aspects of data analytics, including mining, generation, and visualization. Additionally, this person should be committed to transforming data into readable, goal-oriented reports that drive innovation and growth. Objectives of this role · Analyze complex datasets to identify key labour market trends and growth opportunities in the Nipissing and Parry Sound Districts. · Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data · Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to define data needs and support community engagement efforts. · Produce high-quality labour market reports and products for stakeholders, including: o Industry and community profiles o In-demand occupations o Wage rate trends and analysis o Occupational profiles Responsibilities · Work closely with the Executive Director to understand and maintain focus on analytics needs, including critical metrics and KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to the board of directors · Proactively analyze data sets and investigate and communicate which areas need improvement in efficiency and productivity · Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis, with reporting components from multiple data sources · Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources, and provide feedback that will make our data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across datasets · Maintain job portal: review and clean data regularly, ensuring error free data for the monthly report · Utilize labour market data sets such as National Household Survey, Tax Filer and the Census of Canada · Gather existing labour market information and facilitate research of various topics as directed · Conduct and direct original research in a wide range of fields, and synthesize findings that can add value for team members and stakeholders Required skills and qualifications · Three or more years of experience mining data as a data analyst · Proven analytics skills, including mining, evaluation, and visualization · Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations · Strong Excel skills, with aptitude for learning other analytics tools · Some working experience with Python · Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred skills and qualifications · Bachelor’s degree (or other suitable combination of education and experience equivalent) in mathematics, computer science, economics, or statistics · Experience with database and model design and segmentation techniques · Practical knowledge of statistical analysis tools and platforms, such as: Power BI Tableau Beyond 20/20 SWL · Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment HOW TO APPLY: Please send cover letter and resume to: Stacie Fiddler Executive Director The Labour Market Group
