Location: Virtual (student currently in Tokyo, Japan; relocating to Brazil in October)

Preferred start date: ASAP

Details

Availability: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday — early morning or late night Sao Paulo time

Lesson Duration: 1 hour each

Native language/other languages: Japanese

Goals:

• Develop daily communication skills in Portuguese
• Gain confidence using the language for adaptation in Brazil
• Build vocabulary for everyday situations (shopping, food, lifestyle, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Provide beginner-friendly Portuguese lessons with Japanese language support when needed
• Focus on building communication skills for daily life and adaptation abroad
• Incorporate cultural elements relevant to Brazil to prepare the student for relocation
• Create engaging lessons based on student’s personal interests

Qualifications

• Native or near-native proficiency in Portuguese
• Proficiency in Japanese required
• Certificate or degree in language teaching, education, linguistics, or related field
• Experience teaching beginners and supporting cross-cultural adaptation
• Ability to create interactive, culturally relevant lessons
