Job Description

My client, a renewable energy company, is on the lookout for an IT Systems Manager to join their team on a permanent basis in Clare.

The Job:

  • Lead and manage the organisation's IT & Systems function across Ireland and the UK, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient technology operations.
  • Oversee IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud-based systems, user access, identity management, and security controls.
  • Drive cyber security initiatives, including risk management, system hardening, incident response, and data protection compliance.
  • Support digital transformation projects, including the optimisation and continuous improvement of a recently implemented ERP platform.
  • Manage Microsoft technologies, including SharePoint and Power BI, to support collaboration, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution to ensure system performance and minimise downtime.
  • Manage IT vendors, service providers, contracts, budgets, and technology roadmaps.
  • Act as a trusted technology advisor to senior stakeholders while supporting internal users and IT teams.

Have you:

  • 5+ years' experience in an IT management, IT operations, or senior infrastructure role.
  • Strong hands-on experience managing IT infrastructure, networks, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems.
  • Proven experience in cyber security, including risk management, vulnerability management, and security best practices.
  • Experience administering Microsoft technologies, including SharePoint and Power BI.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations, system upgrades, and post-go-live optimisation.
  • Strong understanding of identity management, user permissions, access controls, and security frameworks.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues across hardware, software, and enterprise applications.
  • Experience managing external vendors, third-party providers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of GDPR, data protection, and compliance requirements within Ireland/EU.
  • Relevant IT certifications (Microsoft, networking, cyber security, or similar)
