Job Title: Indirect Buyer & Analyst Position Focus This role is part of a newly established Purchasing Support Office (PSO) in Pune, India, supporting global Non‑Production Purchasing operations across Asia Pacific, Europe & Africa, and North America. The position combines tactical and transactional buying responsibilities with a strong emphasis on procurement data analytics, digital tools, and Foundry-based initiatives. Unlike a traditional Tactical Buyer role, this position plays a dual role: Delivering responsive, operational buying support Acting as a data-enabled buyer, supporting digital procurement programs, analytics, and continuous improvement This is a fast-paced, stakeholder-facing role requiring strong commercial judgment, analytical thinking, and comfort working with large datasets and global systems.
This role requires the capacity to be managed by a supervisor that may be working from a different site. Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Do Tactical Buying & Operations Execute tactical and transactional purchasing activities for non-production and selected direct spend areas not covered by strategic category teams Manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and buying desk activities in accordance with Lear P2P / e Procurement processes Provide helpdesk-style procurement support, handling inbound requests, emails, and queries from global stakeholders Source suppliers, obtain and analyze quotations, and recommend best value buying solutions aligned with requirements Support contract re tenders, renegotiations, and supplier extensions in collaboration with category managers Monitor and challenge non compliant buying behavior, promoting adherence to procurement policies and contracts Track and report on procurement KPIs, SLA performance, and compliance metrics Support operational teams on demand planning, delivery challenges, and tactical problem resolution Data, Analytics & Digital Procurement Support procurement analytics, automation, and AI initiatives, including Foundry-based projects Perform data extraction, cleansing, validation, and analysis for purchasing, supplier, and spend datasets Maintain and enhance supplier master data, including Supplier Card creation and updates in Foundry Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytical models to support sourcing decisions and pipeline tracking Support development of sourcing templates, data models, and predictive insights Partner with global teams to improve data accuracy, governance, and usability Role Scope & Working Conditions Individual contributor role with no direct people management Operates under general supervision, with increasing autonomy as capability grows High interaction with global procurement, data, finance, and category teams Balance of structured transactional work and analytical/problem-solving activities Day shift (11am – 8pm); flexibility to support global time zones if required Qualification – Education Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, Finance, or related field Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in tactical buying, procurement operations, shared services, or supply chain Experience in a global or multinational environment preferred Exposure to data analytics, reporting, or digital procurement tools is strongly preferred Technical & Functional Skills Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with hands-on experience in VBA automation Experience with e Procurement / P2P systems (Coupa preferred) Hands-on experience or strong interest in Foundry, BI tools, or procurement analytics Ability to work with large datasets and ensure high data accuracy Understanding of procurement policies, sourcing processes, and compliance controls Key Competencies & Behaviors Strong analytical and data-driven mindset Customer-focused, responsive, and solution-oriented Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume environments Confident communicator with global stakeholders Process-driven, detail-oriented, and quality-focused Curious, tech-savvy, and eager to support digital transformation High sense of ownership and accountability Languages Fluent in English (spoken and written) Additional languages are an advantage (e.g. Spanish, Mandarin) What You’ll Gain Supports the foundation and scalability of the new Purchasing Support Office in India Bridges tactical procurement execution with digital enablement Helps drive data integrity, insight, and value creation across global purchasing Offers strong career growth toward Senior Buyer, Procurement Analyst, or Digital Procurement roles
