Band 5 Staff Nurse – Haematology Ward Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) invites applications for a full‑time, 12‑month fixed‑term Band 5 Staff Nurse to cover maternity leave on our friendly Haematology ward. Key Responsibilities Plan, document, deliver and evaluate evidence‑based nursing care for patients with malignant and non‑malignant haematological disorders, including Sickle cell and Thalassemia. Provide IV medication and chemotherapy administration, venepuncture and intravenous cannulation, with full induction training offered.
Participate in shift rounds, collaborate with Haematology senior staff, Ward Sister/Charge Nurse and multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient patient management. Support patients throughout diagnosis, treatment, symptom control and end‑of‑life care. Essential Requirements Registered Nurse (RN) with experience or interest in haematology or oncology nursing.
Demonstrated ability to manage IV medication administration and chemotherapy (SACT passport preferred). Strong organisational and communication skills, and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team. Willingness to undertake additional training as required.
