Functions Manager

We’re Hiring: Functions Manager – The Island, Elizabeth Quay

Are you an experienced hospitality leader who loves bringing events to life but also thrives on the floor? The Island at Elizabeth Quay is looking for a passionate and hands‑on Functions Manager to join our leadership team.

Located on Perth's iconic waterfront, The Island hosts everything from intimate celebrations to corporate events, cocktail parties and exclusive venue activations. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys planning exceptional events but also wants to be part of the action, leading service and ensuring every function is executed to the highest standard.

Working closely alongside our Operations Manager, you'll oversee the full functions journey while remaining a visible leader on the floor, supporting service and the wider venue operations when required.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage functions from initial enquiry through to successful event delivery
• Build strong relationships with clients and ensure every event exceeds expectations
• Coordinate with our kitchen, bar and operations teams to deliver seamless events
• Lead functions on the floor, ensuring outstanding guest experiences from start to finish
• Assist with event set‑up, pack‑down and operational logistics
• Support the Operations Manager with day‑to‑day venue leadership and service
• Lead, motivate and develop the front‑of‑house team during busy services and events
• Manage function administration, run sheets, bookings and event communications
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, service and the overall guest experience

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in Functions and Events, or in a senior hospitality management role
• Strong operational hospitality experience with confidence leading a busy venue floor
• Current RSA
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Exceptional communication and client relationship skillsA calm, solutions‑focused approach under pressure
• Passion for hospitality, food and beverage, and creating memorable guest experiences
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required by the events calendar
• Full Australian working rights
