Functional Analyst

Job Description On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking a Functional Analyst for a six month contract to hire. Candidates should be located in the Lower Mainland for occasional onsite work in Vancouver, BC. The Junior Functional Analyst works closely with the Product Manager, business stakeholders, and technical teams to support North American financial systems.

The role supports the implementation, stabilization, and ongoing maintenance of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and related finance platforms. Responsibilities include assisting with user acceptance testing (UAT), supporting go-live readiness activities, and contributing to the ongoing support and improvement of GFS products. Summary Of Essential Job Functions Facilitate the implementation and support of Microsoft D365.

Enable discussions with the business regarding UAT, E2E, and other important processes in the Systems Implementation and SDLC for rollout of GFS products. Monitor, organize, and where appropriate act on help desk and support requests. Assist with design, configuration, and testing of core D365 modules.

Assist with testing integrations between D365 and 3rd Party tools. Communicate effectively with Team Members and Key Business Stakeholders. Maintain/administer 3rd Party applications for procurement, invoicing, and expense tracking.

Assist with documenting business requirements, analysis, design, development, test plans and maintenance financial reports from multiple data providers (including developing sub-reports, formulas, and custom functions) using a variety of tools. Ensure proper processes are followed in the SDLC to maintain responsive, reliable, and functional systems. Develop and maintain training documentation to support the processes required.

Quality Assurance testing. Drive adoption of best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives across GFS products and processes. Proactively facilitate and coordinate ongoing support, maintenance, and issue resolution for existing GFS products.

Required Skills Strong customer service orientation with a proactive, solution-focused mindset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders. Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.

Intermediate knowledge of querying relational data using Microsoft SQL Server is an asset. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, macros, and VBA). Experience developing test plans, test cases, and training materials.

Experience working as a Functional Analyst or in a similar role supporting a mid-market ERP system, including documenting functional requirements, business processes, and system integrations, is considered an asset. Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Teams is considered an asset.
