Role: FP&A Analyst – Company: SEGA Europe Ltd. Working model: Hybrid (3 days in office per week). Location: Building 12, Chiswick Business Park, 566 Chiswick High Road, London, W4 5AN.
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail‑oriented FP&A Analyst to support Sega Europe and Sega West Studio’s financial planning and analysis activities. This role will work closely with stakeholders across studios and corporate teams to help provide insights that support business performance. The position focuses on assisting with cost management processes, supporting forecast accuracy, and improving visibility of development costs and corporate spend.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Plan formulation
- Support BP planning activities, including timelines, guidelines from HQ, and coordination across Studio and Corporate stakeholders.
- Work with West Studio management, HR and finance teams to help build the annual studio plan covering headcount, SG&A, Direct Game Costs, VGEC and other items.
- Review key assumptions and assist in preparing Business Plan materials for Sega of Europe leadership.
- Mid-term Plan
- Support the MTP process design and execution alongside studios, including analysis of European Studio P&Ls (amortised and cash).
- Help create a simplified mid-term plan using in‑line base figures, producing updated P&L outputs and highlighting key gaps for stakeholders.
- Support the monitoring of a cash‑based mid/long‑term studio plan, raising risks to senior management and providing insights to studio leadership and Sega of Europe CCO/CFO.
- Fixed Costs
- Support management of departmental budgets (headcount and SG&A), tracking budget utilisation and overall SBU performance.
- Review inputs and provide feedback to improve forecast accuracy, supporting checks and balances while sharing insights with SBU heads.
- Work with Finance to improve SG&A budget control frameworks and governance processes.
- West Studio Development costs
- Review monthly development costs, headcount plans and title‑level cash spend with the studio COO and finance teams, identifying variances against the business plan and previous forecasts.
- Track budget consumption against approved levels and monitor SG&A, resourcing and title‑level costs versus budget, highlighting risks such as overruns.
- Support preparation of explanations for cost movements, combining data analysis with context on development status, including reporting to Sega of Japan.
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve budget control processes, formats, and systems.
- Support automation of reporting and forecasting workflows and improve outputs using systems (e.g. Power BI) where possible.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field or fully qualified accountant (ideally CIMA or ACA).
- Strong FP&A experience (3–5 years) in a corporate or studio environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI) and PowerPoint for financial presentations.
- Strong analytical, modelling and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Desirable
- Experience with financial systems an advantage (e.g., Oracle, VENA).
- Experience supporting system improvements, automation or reporting transformation initiatives.
