Job Description
Our client, Based in Bridgend, is looking for a Maintenance Technician on temp-perm basics.
The Role
We are looking for a hands‑on Maintenance Technician to join our team within a fast‑paced food production environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining production equipment, site facilities, and the overall condition of the premises to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
Site & Facilities Maintenance
- Carry out general building maintenance and repair work across the site.
- Complete painting, decorating, and refurbishment tasks as required.
- Repair doors, locks, walls, flooring, ceilings, and other site infrastructure.
- Undertake basic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain external areas including pathways, fencing, yard areas, and drainage systems.
- Conduct routine inspections of the facility and report any defects or safety concerns.
- Support contractors on‑site and oversee maintenance projects where required.
- Ensure the site remains clean, safe, and well‑presented at all times.
Production & Equipment Maintenance
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery and site equipment.
- Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on food production and packaging machinery.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks to identify potential issues before they become failures.
- Replace and repair components including motors, bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, pumps, and conveyors.
- Assist with machine installations, modifications, and continuous improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work documentation.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety and health & safety.
