Job Description
Job Purpose The FP&A Analyst will support the delivery of financial planning, analysis, and business intelligence across the Bank. Reporting to the FP&A Manager, the role combines core FP&A activity with business intelligence and reporting responsibilities. Key Responsibilities FP&A Support and Analysis Provide direct support to the FP&A Manager across day‑to‑day planning and analysis activities.
Support the preparation of FP&A management accounts, ensuring outputs are accurate, consistent, and delivered to agreed timelines. Analyse key drivers of profitability and investigate variances against budget and forecast, producing clear commentary and insight. Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including input collection, preparation of supporting analysis, and documentation of assumptions.
Support banking business partnering activity, helping to integrate client profitability insight and promote stakeholder understanding and buy‑in. Business Intelligence and Reporting Take ownership of recurring BI activities that have undergone recent process enhancement and simplification. Create capacity within the BI team by managing BAU reporting effectively, enabling focus on core and value‑adding BI deliverables.
Contribute to continuous improvement of data quality, reporting efficiency, and analytical capability. Required Skills & Experience Studying towards or recently qualified in a recognised professional accounting qualification. Strong Excel skills, with experience in financial modelling and data analysis.
Ability to apply accounting and finance knowledge across a range of financial topics with appropriate attention to detail. Experience of managing personal workload and meeting deadlines in a busy, time‑pressured environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.
Experience of building effective working relationships across teams. Existing experience with Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) would be a strong advantage. A proactive and adaptable approach, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Experience using tools such as Power BI, Power Query, or other data and reporting tools would be advantageous. Any previous experience supporting or informally assisting junior colleagues would be beneficial but not essential.
