Job Description
Job Description
\n
- \n
- Free parking, most days out by 4pm, strong team culture \n
- Direct GM and site partnering, pricing, rate reviews, capex input \n
- CPA/CA, 5+ yrs business partnering in an operational environment \n
This is an ASX-listed business adjacent to mining, infrastructure, energy and construction with operations across the east coast. The finance function is lean and genuinely close to the business, sitting inside the operations it supports rather than issuing numbers from a distance.
\nThe mandate is to turn transactional finance into commercial input the operations team can use to make decisions, not simply report on what has already happened.
\nThis suits a finance professional who wants to sit close to operations and be measured on the calls they help operators make, not just the accuracy of the numbers themselves.
The Opportunity\nYou will report to the Financial Controller with regular exposure to the CFO. The role sits between finance and operations, acting as the primary link for a network of operational sites across Queensland and New South Wales. It exists to produce accurate monthly numbers, credible commercial input on pricing and contract profitability, and a level of trust with site leaders that makes finance part of the decision, not an afterthought.
\nThis is a five day a week, in office role, with no work from home component. You will be on the phone and in Teams meetings regularly with non finance operational stakeholders, some of whom will ask basic questions more than once, and the expectation is that you make time for it regardless of how stretched month end gets. If you want a role where finance stays inside the finance team, this is not it.
What You'll Do\nThe role splits across three things: monthly financial control for the site network, commercial support for pricing and contracts, and finance's day to day link with operational leaders.
\n- \n
- Prepare monthly P&L across the site network, including intercompany, revenue and cost accruals \n
- Manage balance sheet items including the asset register, accruals, debtors, creditors and the purchase order process \n
- Partner with the General Manager and site Business Managers to translate transactional data into decisions \n
- Support pricing, quote and rate reviews to protect and improve contract profitability \n
- Prepare capital expenditure business cases and apply enterprise agreement rates to labour cost modelling \n
- Coordinate budget and forecast inputs directly with site leaders each quarter \n
