Equipment Maintenance Technician (CIM & Instrumentation)

Location: Cork, Ireland

Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site (5 Days Per Week)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Equipment Maintenance Technician to join a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment in Cork. This role will support advanced manufacturing systems, production equipment, and test instrumentation, ensuring operational efficiency and high-quality standards across manufacturing processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician who enjoys troubleshooting complex technical issues, driving process improvements, and working with cutting-edge manufacturing technology.

Please note: Applicants must currently hold a valid Stamp 1G or Stamp 4 visa and be eligible to work full-time in Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical equipment and system issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, inspections, and audits on manufacturing equipment.
  • Support production teams by providing technical expertise across both product and process operations.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reliability, and quality.
  • Support the development, operation, and maintenance of advanced test instrumentation and associated systems.
  • Monitor equipment performance and manufacturing data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to drive operational excellence.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Previous Experience providing hands-on technical support in a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
  • Experience with equipment maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and inspection activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals, Linux, or macOS environments.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP and DHCP.
  • Experience supporting automated manufacturing systems or Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) equipment.
  • Familiarity with RF test equipment or advanced test instrumentation.
  • Experience analysing manufacturing data and identifying process improvements.
  • Strong technical judgment and a proactive approach to solving problems.

Education

  • Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Relevant practical Experience in a similar role is essential.
